Waiting
Alerts you to another call while on the phone.
What It Does
Lets you put one call on hold while you answer a second one, then alternate
between the two. If a third caller tries to reach you they'll get a busy signal
or be forwarded to voice mail. Also works for long distance calls.
How It Works
A tone alerts the called party.
Press and release the receiver button to answer the second call and click again
to return to the first. There are no codes for temporarily canceling the

Call

See the number/name of the calling party
while on the phone.
What It Does
Lets you see the number of the incoming call while you're already on the phone,
so you can decide if you want to switch over.
How It Works
When you hear the Call Waiting tone you'll be able to see the Caller ID
information for the incoming call on your Call Waiting ID/Options-capable phone
or display unit. Call Waiting ID requires subscription to Caller ID, Call
Waiting, and a Call Waiting ID-capable phone or display unit. To
enable, press *65; to disable, press *85. These codes will only take
effect of CW is already enabled.

Auto
Redial
Rechecks a busy number for availability.
What It Does
Continually redials a busy number for up to 30 minutes. A distinctive ring
alerts you when the line becomes open.
How It Works
When you get a busy signal, press *69
to automatically redial a number for up to 30 minutes. Hang up until you hear
the special ring that means your call is going through.

Return
Calls back the last incoming number that called.
What it Does
Automatically dials your last incoming call.
How It Works
Dial
*66. If the line is free, your call will go through.
It continues to check the line for up to 30 minutes, and lets you know when it's
free with a distinctive ring. Works in most areas, but not for long distance
calls.

Automatically forwards all incoming calls to any number you choose.
What It Does
Automatically forwards calls to any number you choose.*
How It Works
To turn on, press *72. At the dial tone, enter
the number you want your calls forwarded to. If the line is busy or doesn't
answer, repeat, and it will be activated even if the line is busy. To turn off,
press *73.

Remote
Access to Call Forwarding
Dial in and direct calls to another number.
What It Does
Remote Access to Call Forwarding will allow Call Forwarding subscribers to
activate, deactivate, or change the forwarded number from any touch-tone
telephone.
How It Works
Remote Access to Call Forwarding first requires subscription to Call Forwarding.
To use Remote Access to Call Forwarding, call the Remote Access number of the
Call Forwarding Center, and follow the steps to enter your four-digit PIN and
the feature code to make changes. If you have already purchased Remote Access to
Call Forwarding but do not know your Remote Access platform number, please call
Westel Customer Care at 1-800-580-5585 and speak to a representative. Remote access can not be used to
program Selective Call Forwarding.

Selective
Call Forwarding
Transfer selected calls to another number.
What It Does
Lets you program your office phone to direct incoming calls from specific phone
numbers you have pre-selected to a different number - such as your cellular
phone - when you're away from your office.
How It Works
Call the Remote Access number of the Call Forwarding Center, and follow the
steps to enter your four-digit PIN and the feature code to make changes. Remote
access can not be used to program Selective Call Forwarding.

Forward Busy/Don't Answer
Automatically forwards calls when your line is busy.
What It Does
Allows incoming calls that encounter a busy condition or are not answered after
a customer-designated interval to be automatically forwarded to another local
telephone number or a long distance number where network facilities permit.
Speed
Calling 8
Shortcut for eight frequently dialed numbers.
What It Does
Lets you assign up to eight of your most frequently called numbers a one-digit
number. Speed Calling works from any phone in the house that's connected on that
same line.
How It Works
When you key in a digit, then #, it automatically dials a phone number you've
programmed in (up to eight numbers).

To assign a speed code, press *74 and wait for the dial tone. Then enter the
number you'd like to assign that number (2-9) then the phone number (include the
area code if you normally have to dial it). To dial, just press the digit you've
assigned to a number, then #.
Speed
Calling 30
Shortcut for thirty frequently dialed numbers.
What It Does
Allows you to set a two-digit code for up to 30 of your most frequently dialed
numbers. Speed Calling 30 works from any phone in the house that's connected on
that same line.
How It Works
When you key in the two-digit code, then #, it automatically dials the phone
number you've programmed in (up to 30 numbers). To assign a speed code, press
*75 and wait for the dial tone. Then, enter the
number you'd like to assign that number (20-49) then the phone number (include
the area code if you normally have to dial it.

Call
Blocker
Prevents calls from up to ten numbers you specify.
What It Does
Automatically rejects calls from numbers you specify or the last number that
called you. You never even hear a ring. Instead, callers hear a recording:
"We are sorry, the party you're calling is not accepting calls at this
time." You can block a number on the spot, even if you don't know who the
caller is.
How it works
To work with this function, enter the List Editing Menu by pressing
*60. You will then be given instructions on how to set up or remove
the list of calls you wish to block

Anonymous

What It Does
Rejects incoming calls from anonymous callers who've blocked their numbers
How It Works
Callers will hear a message stating that the party they are calling does not
accept anonymous calls. ACR also allows the flexibility to turn the service on
or off by dialing a code. Available with or without Caller ID. Press *77 (or
dial 1177 on a rotary phone) to turn it on, and to turn it off, press *87 (or
dial 1187 on a rotary phone).

Ring
Up to 3 phone numbers on 1 phone line each with a distinctive ring.
What It Does
Lets you have up to three separate numbers, each with its own distinctive ring,
all on one phone line. Personalized Ring is perfect for separating business
calls from personal calls, or sales from service calls. Personalized Ring also
allows you to list each number separately in a Directory, so you'll get
three times the exposure for your business.
How It Works
Personalized Ring will be activated by a Westel Service Representative.

What It Does
Makes your phone ring distinctively for calls from up to ten selected numbers.
How It Works
To create your list, press *61 (1161 from a rotary phone) and follow the setup
instructions. You can modify your priority list at any time by calling *61. To
turn off the service, press *81 (1181 from a rotary phone) and follow the
instructions.

Trace an offending call immediately after it's received.
What It Does
Traces an offending call immediately after it's made.
How It Works
When you receive a bothersome phone call, hang up and wait ten seconds, then
press *57 (or dial 1157 on a rotary phone). The last number that called you will
be traced (it won't work if Call Waiting is triggered in the meantime). After
you initiate Call Trace, a recording will let you know whether the trace is
successful and provide an 800 number you can call to take legal action. Write
down the time and date of the call to match up with our phone records. We can
only give the traced number to a law enforcement agency and our security
department. Unless you live in Texas, you'll need to sign up to make Call Trace
available on your line.
